Turok 2 choppy? Heck no. The game is one of the smoothest 64 games that I have played! It blows the first one away by far. The graphics look almost rendered. That is with the expansion pack, Turok's face looks like a human face from a picture, it looks like watching a movie not a bunch of polygons shooting light at one another. Everything looks real, it has real time lighting in it so the weapons effects are just that much better.
The enemies hunt you! they don't just
run at you and try to kill you, they hide until you are close and
then jump out. They even dodge your hits instead of standing
there and letting you kill them. It's hard, very hard, and it's
really gory there is blood all over the place and it stays for a
while. If you shoot a dinosaur with an arrow it stays in him and
you can see it. A real plus is after you kill the dinosaur you
can pull the arrows back out of him and reuse them. If you get
really close with the shotgun you can blow body parts off
enemies, and on some of them after you blow their head off you
can look and see their spinal cord hanging out, really realistic.
The music on the first Turok was good, this one
is by far better. I wish I could get a soundtrack of
it. It really is that good, not your standard video
game music. Personally like this game very much. Acclaim put a
lot into this one and scored a good hit. If you liked the first
Turok this one is a must. There are so many more weapons, and
with the expansion pack the pyrotechnic effects are extremely
smooth.
The controls are a lot like the first one but you can change it to play like 007's controls. They are still not as simple as 007's are, it takes a little getting used to. This time there is actually a story to it, although it still has the same purpose as the first. Kill everything!
